Hello everybody, name is Zach from Orlando.  I have been a avid costumer with the 501st (some of you I am sure I have met) and decided to venture into droids (my 501st duties keep me busy but try to find time).  I had the bug a while back when Marc was helping me, but lost the interest after he passed (hit me pretty hard).  After MegaCon last year Fletch sparked my interest again.

I first got the bug again  putting these 2 guys together.  One for myself and one for another member.

Anyway I am building  2 styrene droids, R2 and Q5.  R2 will be functional while I am making Q5 into a static giant boombox.  Q5 will be on only 2 legs since the skirt will have the downward firing sub mounted in it.
So this is how they stand now.

Currently working on the legs.  Looking forward to getting to know everybody.

Thanks Angelo, you also helped motivate me, lol.

Little progress, legs are assenbled.  Front skins are on.  Working on battery boxes and finishing up arm boxes now.  Going to use A&A feet, waiting for those to come in.  The dome in the pic is actually for Q5, still waiting on R2's dome.

Thanks, kind of neat to see it actually look like a droid.  Will be better once he has feet.
Funny thing is my surgery actually gave me time to work on it.  IF i have to sit around the house, might as well trim plastic.

Hope your surgery went well.

Question for you styrene builders. When I seat my legs all the way down in my ankles the boosters don't line up. They line up when I gap the bottom of the ankle 5mm. Anybody else have this issue. My boosters seem to be the accurate size.

2.4 inches is the magic number from the ankle to the line that runs around the leg.
your right the leg does NOT sit all the way in the ankle on a styrene build.

hope this helps
